Food forum: FarmFest 2009 will be held January 9 to 11 in Mong Kok.

FarmFest 2009 will be held January 9 to 11 in Mong Kok featuring the biggest outdoor farmers' market in Hong Kong with 200 booths promoting local agricultural and fisheries products.

More than 150 booths will sell local premium fruit and vegetables, chilled and dried seafood, and organic products, while 40 booths will sell local delicacies, gourmet food and specialty culinary products.

This year the exhibition zone will resemble a traditional New Territories village with antique buildings, fishponds and the farming tools of yesteryear. It will also show the production of organic sweet corn and grey mullet, and feature arts performances, environmental-living talks, game booths and displays.

Organised by the Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department, the Vegetable-Fish Marketing Organisation and the FarmFest Organising Committee, the free event will be held at Fa Hui Park from noon to 8pm January 9, and 10am to 8pm January 10 and 11.
