Tourist ill with Legionnaires' Disease

The Centre for Health Protection today confirmed a case of Legionnaires' Disease involving a 38-year-old tourist.

 

The man developed fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, muscle pain and cough on December 27 and was admitted to private hospital on December 31. He is now in critical condition.

 

He had stayed in a relative's home on Lantau Island and travelled to the Mainland during the incubation period.

 

There were 13 cases last year.
