Shenzhen worker treated for streptococcus

Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection confirmed today a case of Streptococcus suis infection involving a 46-year old man working in Shenzhen.

 

He sought medical treatment in Shenzhen for fever, chills and headache on December 10 and was admitted to a Hong Kong private hospital December 15.

 

He was transferred to Kwong Wah Hospital for further management today and is stable.

 

This was the sixth streptococcus infection this year. There were six last year.
