Experts inspect H5N1 chicken farm

Investigation group on avian influenza inspects index
Under the microscope: The expert group investigating the recent avian influenza outbreak inspect the index farm in Yuen Long.

The expert group investigating the recent H5N1 avian influenza outbreak conducted a site inspection at the index farm in Yuen Long today.

 

Group members were the University of Hong Kong's Professor Yuen Kwok-yung and Dr Lo King-shun, Assistant Director of Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation (Inspection & Quarantine) Dr Thomas Sit, and Centre for Health Protection Consultant, Community Medicine (Communicable Disease) Dr Chuang Shuk-kwan.

 

They inspected biosecurity measures taken at the farm and spoke with its owner. It is working to identify the source of infection.
