People should not feed babies a batch of Hipp's fruit pure with banana and apricot baby food which may contain the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, the Centre for Food Safety urges.

The affected product is marked with 'L35655' on jars and has a a use-by date of December 31.

The centre has asked the trade not to sell the product after Norwegian authorities issued a warning on it.

Eating food containing the bacterium can cause botulism - a life-threatening illness - or death.
