The Hospital Authority has appointed six hospital chief executives - Dr Joseph Lee, Dr Man Chi-yin, Dr Chung Kin-lai, Dr Chui Tak-yi, Dr Nelson Wat and Dr Wong Tak-cheung.
Authority Chief Executive Shane Solomon today hailed the appointees, many from the frontline, saying they will bring new perspectives and impetus to hospital management.
"I look forward to working with them to ensure the ongoing quality and reliability of public healthcare services," he said.
Dr Lee has been appointed Grantham Hospital Chief Executive and assumed duty August 1. He is a specialist in surgery.
A specialist in emergency medicine Dr Man will be North District Hospital Chief Executive from December 1.
Dr Chung has been appointed Chief Executive of Castle Peak and Siu Lam Hospitals. Also an emergency medicine specialist he will take up office November 10.
Appointed Haven of Hope Hospital Chief Executive Dr Chui is a physician by background and will assume duty November 10.
Dr Wat has been named Chief Executive of the MacLehose Medical Rehabilitation Centre, and the Duchess of Kent Children's and Fung Yiu King Hospitals. He is also a physician.
Fellow physician Dr Wong has been named Our Lady of Maryknoll Hospital Chief Executive.
