Carrie Yau visits Venice Biennale

*

In building the West Kowloon Cultural District, Hong Kong will need to strengthen exchanges with leading cultural institutions such as the Venice Biennale, Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs Carrie Yau says.

This will help lay the foundation for more collaboration projects, Ms Yau added.

She is leading a study tour in Europe, which visited the International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale in Italy today. The biennale is an international art exhibition held every two years.

At the meeting with biennale President Paola Baratta, and its Director General Andrea del Mercato, Ms Yau briefed them on Hong Kong's cultural development and in particular, the progress of the West Kowloon Cultural District project.

She said the biennale would welcome opportunities to collaborate with Hong Kong.
