16 public pools to be heated for winter

Leisure & Cultural Services Department

The Leisure & Cultural Services Department will provide heating in 16 public swimming pools this winter.

 

Morrison Hill, Island East, Ho Man Tin, Hammer Hill Road, Shing Mun Valley, Fanling, Sha Tin Jockey Club, Hin Tin and Tseung Kwan O Swimming Pools will be heated from tomorrow.

 

Wan Chai, Lai Chi Kok Park, Sham Shui Po Park, Tai Kok Tsui, Kowloon Park, Tuen Mun, and Yuen Long Swimming Pools will open on different dates due to maintenance work. For details click here.

 

Three pools without heating - Victoria Park, Kennedy Town and Kowloon Tsai - will remain open from 6.30am to noon daily until November 30.

 

Lifeguard services

Lifeguard services at five beaches in Southern District and 19 in the New Territories will be suspended from November 1 to March 31.

 

Lifeguard services at four Southern District beaches - Repulse Bay, Middle Bay, Stanley Main and Big Wave Bay - will continue from 9am to 6pm daily in November and in March.

 

But at Deep Water Bay Beach lifeguard services will be maintained from 9am to 6pm in November and March, and from 8am to 5pm from December 1 to February 29.

 

For New Territories beaches winter lifeguard services will continue from 8am to 5pm daily from November 1 to March 31 at Clear Water Bay Second, Silverstrand and Golden Beaches.
