Eggs, crackers fail melamine test

Centre for Food Safety

The Centre for Food Safety has found a sample of Select extra large fresh brown eggs and a sample of Croley Foods Blueberry Cream Sandwich Sunflower Crackers to contain excessive melamine.

 

The egg sample came from a six-pack with an expiry date of October 25, 2008. The level of melamine detected was 4.7ppm.

 

The cracker sample came from a 270g pack containing 10 individual packs with an expiry date of December 5, 2008. The level of melamine detected was 3.2ppm.

 

The centre has asked the trade to stop selling the products. People can call 2381 6096 for the product information.
