Melamine found in 2 more Cadbury chocolates

*
Centre for Food Safety

Two Cadbury milk chocolates have been found to contain excessive melamine, the Centre for Food Safety says.

They are Cadbury Dairy Milk Cookies Chocolate Bulk Pack 5kg with an expiry date of November 2, 2009, and Cadbury Dairy Milk Hazelnut Chocolate Bulk Pack 5kg with an expiry date of January 23, 2010.

The levels of melamine detected were 6.9ppm and 56ppm. The legal limit for melamine in these products is 2.5ppm.

The centre has informed the trade of the test results and the importer has recalled the products.

The Cadbury importer earlier recalled 11 of the brand's products and the centre later collected samples of two of them. The importer later provided another seven samples of six products to the centre for testing.

Apart from the two unsatisfactory samples and one satisfactory sample announced today, test results for the other five products are satisfactory and have been announced. For the remaining three products the importer had no stock in hand and the centre has not found them in the local market.
