Dengue fever case confirmed

Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed the year's 32nd imported case of Dengue fever, involving a 42-year-old Sham Shui Po man.

He travelled to Thailand September 18 to 21 and came down with fever and joint pain September 27. He was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital September 28 and discharged yesterday.

There were 58 imported Dengue fever cases last year. People should stay alert and help prevent mosquito breeding. Travellers should also take preventive measures against the disease and consult doctors quickly if feeling unwell after returning from a trip.
