The Centre for Health Protection today confirmed a Streptococcus suis infection involving an 81-year-old Kowloon City woman.

She was admitted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital with a cough and fever September 27. She is now stable.

This is the fifth reported streptococcus infection this year. There were six last year.
