Man hospitalised for myiasis

Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed a case of human myiasis involving an 84-year-old Kwun Tong man.

 

He went to United Christian Hospital with a sore leg on September 11 and maggots were found in an ankle wound. He is in stable condition.

 

This is the seventh case of human myiasis this year. Fourteen cases were reported last year.
