Tourist ill with Dengue fever
*
Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed the year's 27th imported case of Dengue fever involving a 38-year-old tourist who arrived in Hong Kong August 11.

She came down with fever, malaise and a rash a day before arrival. She had been in Indonesia and Singapore, and has now left Hong Kong.

There were 58 imported Dengue fever cases last year. People should stay alert and help prevent mosquito breeding. Travellers should also take preventive measures against the disease and consult doctors quickly if they feel unwell after a trip.

Click here for more prevention tips or visit the Travel Health Service website for information on Dengue fever abroad.
