The Paralympic equestrian events will run from September 7 to 11 at the Sha Tin venue and tickets will be on sale from August 29 at China Travel Service's four offices and the agent's website.

Speaking at a press conference this morning, Equestrian Company Chief Executive Officer Lam Woon-kwong said there will be nine competition sessions for the events.

"For each session, 2,600 tickets will be put up for sale at $39, while 2,400 are required to be reserved for educational purposes," he added.

Sale arrangements

Tickets will be available for sale from 9am at China Travel Service Head Office in Sheung Wan and its branch offices in Wan Chai, Mong Kok and Sha Tin on a first-come-first-served basis.

Tickets can also be booked through the agent's website from 11am. Website purchasers can redeem tickets at the agent's customs service centre in Mong Kok.

Each applicant may select a maximum of six tickets per ceremony session and 15 tickets per match for every transaction. Ticket purchasers need to submit a completed record sheet upon ticket purchase. The form can be downloaded here.

Meanwhile, people can also purchase tickets to other Paralympic games which will take place in Beijing and Qingdao from September 6 to 17.

Ceremony tickets have been open for sale from April 10 while the tickets of other sports will be available from August 29. Tickets ranging from $39 to $98 will be sold from 9am at the agent's Mong Kok branch and people can also book tickets through the agent's website from 11am. Educational tickets

Education Bureau Principal Education Officer (Curriculum Development) Benjamin Yung said letters were sent to schools on August 6, inviting them to apply for educational tickets.

Noting the schools' response is encouraging, Mr Yung said as at last night, applications from about 100 schools have been received, involving about 12,000 tickets.

The bureau will continue to accept applications and will start distributing the tickets to schools next week.

On the events' security measures and house rules, Mr Lam said the arrangements will be similar to those of the Olympic games. Since the scale of the Paralympic games is smaller, the number of security guards to be deployed will be adjusted accordingly.
