July saw the comprehensive social security assistance caseload fall 0.04% on June, to 283,810 cases involving 485,611 recipients, the Social Welfare Department says.
Jobless cases rose 0.4% to 31,132, while single-parent and low-earning cases dropped 0.03% and 0.6% to 36,466 and 16,552.
Old-age cases fell 0.1% to 151,313, while permanent-disability cases dropped 0.1% to 17,729.
