The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed this year's 18th imported case of Dengue fever involving a 62-year-old woman who arrived from Bangladesh on July 15.
She developed symptoms including fever and vomiting on July 17 and was admitted to Caritas Medical Centre the following day. She was discharged on August 1.
There were 58 imported Dengue fever cases last year. People should stay alert and help prevent mosquito breeding. Travellers should take preventive measures against the disease and consult doctors quickly if feeling unwell after returning from a trip.
