Alert issued on tainted peppers, avocados
*
Centre for Food Safety

The Centre for Food Safety has advised consumers not to eat certain batches of peppers and avocados from Texas due to possible salmonella contamination.

Manufacturers Agricola Zaragoza of McAllen and Grande Produce of Hidalgo are recalling the affected products.

The centre has contacted US authorities for more information and has alerted the trade not to sell these products.

Consumers who have purchased peppers and avocados from the US should contact retailers to determine if their products are involved in the recall. For details on the affected products click here.
