3 EV-71 cases confirmed

Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed three Enterovirus-71 infection cases involving two boys and a girl, bringing the year's total to 51.

 

A one-year-old Shenzhen boy developed fever, oral ulcers and vesicular lesions on hands and feet on June 6. He came to Hong Kong for treatment on the same day and was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital. He was discharged the next day.

 

A five-year-old boy developed symptoms of fever, oral ulcers and rash over hands and feet June 4. He was admitted to Queen Mary Hospital on June 7 and discharged the following day.

 

A girl aged 16 developed symptoms of Hand-Foot-Mouth Disease June 2. She was admitted to United Christian Hospital on June 5 and was discharged June 10.
