14th Dengue fever case confirmed
*
Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed this year's 14th imported case of Dengue fever involving a 34-year-old man who had travelled to Thailand from May 9 to 13.

The man came down with symptoms including fever, headache and a rash on May 20. He was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital on May 21 and was discharged yesterday.

His wife had travelled with him but did not have any symptoms.

There were 58 imported Dengue fever cases last year. People should stay alert and help prevent mosquito breeding. Travellers should also take preventive measures against the disease and consult doctors quickly if feeling unwell after returning from a trip.
