Medical aid: The fourth batch of healthcare professionals leave for Sichuan to support the medical rescue operation there.

The fourth batch of healthcare professionals has left for Sichuan to support the medical rescue operation in Chengdu, the Hospital Authority says.

The 22-member team includes doctors and nurses in Orthopaedic & Traumatology and Anaesthesiology, two physiotherapists and six nurses from an operating theatre unit and central sterile supplies department. 

They will join the medical team led by Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital Chief of Service (Accident & Emergency) Dr Lau Chor-chiu upon their arrival.

There are 43 healthcare professionals providing medical support services in West China Hospital, West China Second Hospital and Chengdu Children's Hospital in Chengdu.

2 HK men still missing

Up to 5pm today, the Immigration Department had received no new requests for assistance, although two Hong Kong men remain missing.

Since the May 12 earthquake, the department has received 126 calls for assistance and 467 enquiries. Of the requests, 101 related to Hong Kong people losing contact with their families, one regarded an injury, and 24 concerned the loss of travel documents or money.
