Health promotion fund applications open
*

The Health Care & Promotion Fund is open to applications for non-research health promotion projects that help people adopt healthier lifestyles by boosting awareness, changing behaviour or creating an environment that support good health practices. Applications will close on July 31.

This is the 22nd application call. Priority for funding is given to grant applications targeting underprivileged groups who are at risk of ill health, and health promotion programmes carried out in primary care settings. Higher funding priorities will be accorded to thematic areas such as tobacco control; lifestyle, nutrition and physical activity; mental well-being; and injury prevention.

Guidance notes and application forms are available here. All applications will be subject to rigorous review by the Health Care & Promotion Fund Committee and its Promotion Sub-committee, which comprises healthcare professionals and experts, individuals closely involved in community affairs, and government representatives. Successful applicants may be awarded full or partial support normally not exceeding $300,000 on a one-off basis.

The fund, set up in 1995, has so far supported 148 health promotion projects. Enquiries can be made by emailing rfs@fhb.gov.hk or faxing 3150 8993.
