10 treated for flu-like illness

The Centre for Health Protection is investigating three flu-like illness reports involving 10 children aged two to 11 from two primary schools in Wong Tai Sin and Tsz Wan Shan and a Yau Tong nursery.

 

Three boys and one girl, all aged seven, came from SKH Kei Tak Primary School in Wong Tai Sin, with one admitted to Kwong Wah Hospital. No hospitaliation was required for the two boys and one girl aged nine to 11 from Ho Lap Primary School in Tsz Wan Shan. Of the two boys and one girl aged two to three from Tsung Tsin Mission of Hong Kong On Yee Nursery School in Yau Tong, one was sent to St Teresa's Hospital.

 

Centre staff have visited the institutions to offer health advice. Meanwhile, no report was received today under the influenza surveillance arrangement set up by the centre with hospitals.
