Government departments will review the route for the May 2 Hong Kong leg of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay by analysing yesterday's trial run, Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs Carrie Yau says, adding only minor changes will be made if revision is needed.
Speaking on a radio programme today Mrs Yau thanked the public for helping make the test a smooth success, despite the slight hindrance in people and traffic flow caused. She expects a less favourable situation on the actual event day.
Given public examinations are also continuing, Mrs Yau urged the public to avoid gathering or creating noise near exam centres. Her bureau will assess and co-operate with the Education Bureau, the Examinations & Assessment Authority and schools to ensure exam candidates will not be affected.
She said Police are prepared for any contingency, adding there is no black list for visitors coming to Hong Kong.
