The monthly average ovitrap index for March rose to 0.2% from 0.1% in February, the Food & Environmental Hygiene Department says.
Of the 38 surveyed areas, positive ovitrap indices were recorded in Kwun Tong Central (1.7%), Tai Po (1.8%) and Tin Shui Wai (1.8%).
As the rainy season approaches the department urges the public to stay alert to the risk of mosquito-transmitted diseases. Preventive measures should not be relaxed as Dengue fever is still prevalent in neighbouring places.
People should inspect their homes and surroundings to remove potential mosquito breeding grounds
