More relief for cold-hit fish farmers
*
AFCD

The Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department is offering further relief to local mariculturists and pond fish farmers with fish losses due to the cold spell late January to mid-February. They should register by Friday.

The department has obtained the Emergency Relief Fund's consent in view of the event's severity. It will make a special grant up to a maximum of $3,940 for mariculturists and $3,774 for pond fish farmers as urgent assistance.

The grants will be released to approved applicants for primary producer grants.  Mariculturists who have not yet registered should call 2150 7108 and pond fish farmers 2471 9145 by Friday for final registration.

The department has received 803 applications from mariculturists and 98 from pond fish farmers. It has released $1.6 million and is processing the remaining applications.
