The Centre for Food Safety warns consumers not to buy or eat "Scotland salmon/Scotland Atlantic salmon" sold at four shops as it is suspected of being contaminated with petroleum products.

Six boxes containing a total of about 135kg of Scottish salmon were imported to Hong Kong, for sale at the following four shops:

* Park'N Superstore, G25, G/F, Block C, Discovery Bay Plaza (loose pack on demand by customer, sale starting February 15);

* Park'N Superstore, Level 2, Hong Kong Park View, RBL 1051, Tai Tam Reservoir Road (loose pack on demand by customer, sale starting February 16);

* Taste, Shop No 201-3, 2/F, Stanley Plaza, Ma Hang (in pre-packaged form and the packing date is February 15; in loose pack on demand by customer, sale starting February 15); and

* Taste, Shop No 5, MTR Level, Festival Walk, Tat Chee Avenue, Kowloon (loose pack on demand by customer, sale starting February 15).

According to the information from the UK authorities, the chemicals implicated in the problem are present at low levels which are very unlikely to be a risk to health.

As a precautionary measure, people should not to eat the concerned product, and the four shops have stopped selling it.
