2 more patients ill with gastroenteritis

*

Castle Peak Hospital has confirmed two more patients in a long-stay ward came down with gastroenteritis. They have been transferred to Tuen Mun Hospital for isolated treatment and their condition is stable.

Five male patients aged 27 to 60 in the ward have suffered vomiting and diarrhoea since February 9, with four confirmed to have norovirus.

Infection-control measures have been bolstered and admission to the ward has been suspended. All patients are under close medical surveillance.

The case has been reported to the Hospital Authority and the Centre for Health Protection.
