5,400 live pigs available Sunday
*

The Food & Health Bureau expects 5,300 live Mainland pigs to be imported Sunday with a local supply of 100, bringing the day's total to 5,400.

Today's live pig supply was 3,633 with 3,376 from the Mainland and 257 locally raised. The wholesale price ranged from $1,223 to $1,699 per 100 catties.

According to agents, some live pigs could not be transported as scheduled due to heavy snow on the Mainland. Today's actual supply figures therefore are lower than estimated.
