The Broadcasting Authority received 206 complaints regarding television and radio broadcasting services in December, down 18.9% on November, bringing the year's total to 2,992.

The top three complaint cases were "News at 6.30", "Marriage of Inconvenience" and "Infolink". They constituted 4.3%, 2.9% and 2.9% of the total number of complaints received in the month.

The authority has delegated its power to the Commissioner for Television & Entertainment Licensing to deal with complaints which do not involve any breach of legislation, licence conditions or codes of practice, or which fall outside section 11 of the Broadcasting Authority Ordinance.

The Broadcasting Authority Complaints Committee processes complaints which fall within the ordinance's section 11, with a view to making recommendations to the authority.

As of the end of December, the authority had dealt with 28 cases. Among them, 11 cases were justified. The authority issued one minor breach, six pieces of advice, and four pieces of strong advice to the relevant broadcasters.
