Seventeen residents and three staff of a Tuen Mun elderly home have come down with acute gastroenteritis symptoms since December 27.

The 10 men and 10 women aged 40 to 96 are in stable condition. Sixteen consulted general practitioners and general outpatient clinics while three attended Tuen Mun Hospital's accident and emergency department. Two were admitted.

Centre for Health Protection officers have visited the elderly home and provided health instructions to its staff. The centre will closely monitor the facility and provide health advice.
