Hainan holidaymakers fall ill

*
Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection is investigating an imported food poisoning case involving a man and 11 women aged 20 to 22 who joined a cruise tour to Hainan Island December 29 to January 2.

They fell ill after eating at a restaurant on the island on December 30. Four sought treatment upon their return from private doctors while one was admitted to United Christian Hospital in stable condition.

People are reminded to observe good personal, food and environmental hygiene at all times to prevent food-borne diseases, and to patronise only reputable and licensed restaurants when dining out.
