District Office aids Tuen Mun villagers
*
Home Affairs Department

The Tuen Mun District Office co-operated with Fire Services and other relevant departments to provide emergency relief services to people affected by the recent district hill fire.

The district office invited 20 Tsing Shan Tsuen villagers evacuated today to temporarily stay in the Butterfly Bay Community Centre. It also contacted the Social Welfare Department for resources.

The villagers declined the offer, preferring to stay with relatives. They all returned home when the fire danger warning was cancelled.

About 20 villagers had been evacuated and put up temporarily at Shan King Community Hall when the hill fire spread to the vicinity of Yeung Siu Hang village on January 1.
