There were 2,184 chickenpox cases reported from August to October, down by 145 cases on the same month last year, the Centre for Health Protection says.

Chickenpox occurs throughout the year with peaks from November to February.

The centre will send letters to pre-primary institutions and primary and secondary schools to remind them of prevention measures. Pamphlets on chickenpox will be available at maternal and child-health centres.
