Under the sportFIT scheme, students who meet the requirements of both the sportACT and the School Physical Fitness Award Scheme will be given further recognition and awards.
Today's ceremony also marked the launch of the sportACT Month. Running until December 20 it will motivate schools and students to continue participating in the School Sports Programme in the coming academic year.
With Hong Kong as a co-host city of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, a torch relay was also held at the venue. More than 100 school students took part to experience the Olympic spirit.
