The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed the year's ninth leptospirosis case, involving a 58-year-old Chai Wan man.

He developed fever, myalgia and headache November 1 and was admitted to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital November 4 and was discharged today.

He has no travel history during the incubation period.

Hong Kong saw two imported and one unclassified leptospirosis cases last year. In 2005 there were three imported and four local cases reported. More details about leptospirosis can be found here.
