The Government House open day will be held November 11.
From 10am to 5pm visitors can enjoy the gardens and see the drawing and dining rooms where the Chief Executive holds official functions and receives dignitaries.
Visitors should use public transport and enter by the east gate on Upper Albert Road and leave by the main gate.
Police may announce a cut-off time for lining up outside Government House to ensure those in the queue can be admitted in time.
Government House is open to the public twice a year. The previous open day on March 11 attracted 5,000 visitors.
