*
CHP logo (Eng version)

The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed the year's sixth leptospirosis case, involving a 32-year-old Eastern District man.

He developed fever, chill and muscle stiffness on August 27 and was admitted to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital on August 30. He has recovered and was discharged September 6.

He was on the Mainland August 25 and 26.

Hong Kong saw two imported and one unclassified leptospirosis cases last year. In 2005 there were three imported and four local cases reported. More details on leptospirosis can be found here.
