Students vow to build harmonious families
*
2007 Pledge Day

Parent pledge: Lingnan Hang Yee Memorial Secondary School students, parent representatives and officials pledge to build a harmonious family through filial piety.

*

Scores of students have pledged to show more care for family members in the coming school year under a new Education Bureau scheme.

At the 2007 Pledge Day launch ceremony today, the students vowed to build a harmonious family through filial piety.

Principal Assistant Secretary for Education Chan Ka-ki and other officiating guests signed the pledge with Lingnan Hang Yee Memorial Secondary School students and parent representatives.

Under the scheme, schools help students develop a healthy lifestyle and build a close family relationship. The bureau will organise monthly seminars promoting student and parent awareness of the importance of a harmonious family life. It will also encourage schools to incorporate the measures into their development plans.
