The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed the year's ninth Legionnaires' disease case, involving a 66-year-old Kwun Tong man.

He came down with a fever, tiredness, stomach pain and diarrhoea on August 24. He was admitted to a private hospital on Hong Kong Island August 31 and was transferred to Queen Mary Hospital September 4. He was discharged.

He had travelled during the incubation period. His wife has no symptoms.

There were 16 Legionnaires' disease cases reported last year and 11 in 2005. More details on the disease can be found here.
