Matthew Cheung tours elderly home safety association
In operation: Secretary for Labour & Welfare Matthew Cheung sees how the Senior Citizen Home Safety Association's hotline service operates.
*

Secretary for Labour & Welfare Matthew Cheung tours Senior Citizen Home Safety Association, a non-profit-making and self-financing organisation set up in 1996, to better understand the needs of the elderly.

Mr Cheung learned from the association's Executive Director Timothy Ma on the wide spectrum of services offered, including the 24-hour Personal Emergency Link Service, the Elder Ring Hotline Service and Friends of Institutionalised Elders at Private Home for the Elderly.

He also visited two hotlines' operating centres to see how personal emergency support and caring services are provided to seniors living alone, people with chronic illness and those in need through the call bell system.
