Leisure & Cultural Services Department

The Tsuen Wan sand sculpture contest will be held from 9am to 1pm October 14 at Lido Beach. Applications close September 21.

Organised by the Leisure & Cultural Services Department, the contest is divided into four divisions - open, youth, children and disabled.

Each team must have three to five members. In the disabled division, each team should have six to eight members with at least half of them being people with disabilities.

Teams can decide their own themes and will have two hours to create their sand sculptures. Adjudication will be based on skill, creativity and aesthetics. Prizes will be awarded to the winner, and the first and second runner-ups of each division. All teams will also vie for the overall championship and greatest creativity award.

Application forms are now available at the Tsuen Wan District Leisure Services Office, as well as Tsuen Wan West, Yeung Uk Road, Wai Tsuen and Tsuen King Circuit Sports Centres.

Application forms and the $60 entry fee must be submitted to the Tsuen Wan District Leisure Services Office, 3/F, Yeung Uk Road Municipal Services Building, 45 Yeung Uk Road, Tsuen Wan by September 21.

There are limited places and applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Enquiries can be made on 2212 9702.
