Girl treated for Dengue fever

Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed an imported Dengue fever case involving a 16-year-old Dutch girl.

 

She left Holland for Indonesia with her family on July 14 and came down with fever and a rash on August 2. She arrived in Hong Kong on August 8 and was admitted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital the next day. She was discharged on August 12 and returned to Holland.

 

This is the 21st imported Dengue fever case so far this year. Last year saw 31 Dengue fever cases, all imported.
