Suffolk poultry imports resume

The Centre for Food Safety has resumed processing applications for importing poultry and poultry products from Suffolk in the UK.

The centre suspended processing applications from Suffolk following confirmation of an outbreak of the highly pathogenic H5N1 avian flu virus on a poultry farm there in February.

In view of the control measures taken by British authorities and the fact that there has been no other bird flu cases reported, the centre has decided to resume processing applications from the county.
