The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed two Dengue fever cases, one imported and the other under investigation.

A 21-year-old Tseung Kwan O man came down with fever, muscle pain and tiredness on July 30 and was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital August 4. He was discharged August 8.

He travelled to Indonesia with nine people July 6 to August 4. His family members and travel companions have no symptoms.

The second case involved a 57-year-old Tuen Mun man. He came down with fever, headache and a skin rash on July 31. He was sent to Tuen Mun Hospital August 4 and was discharged August 9.

He visited Macau July 23 to August 1. The centre is investigating the source of infection and has notified the Macau health authority. His family members have no symptoms.

Prior to these two new cases, 19 imported cases had been reported this year. Last year saw 31 cases.
