The Centre for Health Protection urges people to guard against Dengue fever after two more imported cases were confirmed.

A 46-year-old man living in Kwai Chung developed fever, headache and a rash on July 18 and was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital on July 21. He is now in stable condition. He and three friends had travelled to Thailand from July 12 to 16. His friends have no Dengue fever symptoms.

A 37-year-old woman arrived in Hong Kong from the Mainland on July 18 and was admitted to a private hospital on Hong Kong Island that day and was discharged on July 23.

She had developed fever, headache and a rash on July 14 after travelling to the Mainland, India and Singapore alone from July 3 to 14.

There have been 17 imported cases of Dengue fever so far this year, and 31 cases in all of 2006. All caes were classified as imported.
