*

Medical and public health professionals from Guangdong, Macau and Hong Kong will attend the seventh Tripartite Meeting on the Prevention & Control of Infectious Diseases in Hong Kong on July 26 and 27.

They will review the implementation of the agreement in 2006 and discuss the way ahead, covering issues relating to the overall situation of infectious disease, emergency preparedness in handling public-health incidents, and collaboration of medical and public health experts in the three jurisdictions.

Led by Director of Health Dr Lam Ping-yan, the Hong Kong delegation will include Centre for Health Protection Controller Dr Thomas Tsang, heads of different branches under the centre, and the Hospital Authority's Director (Strategy & Planning) Dr Vivian Wong and Chief Manager (Infection, Emergency & Contingency) Dr Liu Shao-haei.

Guangdong Department of Health Associate Director Huang Fei and Macau Health Bureau Director Dr Koi Kuok-leng will lead delegations from Guangdong and Macau.
