South Korean poultry imports resume

The Centre for Food Safety will resume processing applications for importing poultry and poultry products from South Korea as there have been no other cases of avian influenza reported there.

The applications were suspended in November last year following confirmation of a highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 case in a poultry farm there.

Hong Kong imported 900 tonnes of frozen poultry meat and offal from South Korea from January to August last year.
