The Centre for Food Safety has suspended processing applications for importing poultry and poultry products from Germany, following confirmation of a highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 case on a poultry farm there.

The centre is seeking more information on the case.

Hong Kong imported about 3,300 tonnes of frozen poultry meat and offal from Germany from September to March.
