Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection is investigating the suspected food poisoning of five people who ate at a Kowloon City restaurant.

A male and two females, aged 10 to 44, ate at the restaurant on June 10 and later developed abdominal pain, diarrhoea and vomiting. A 25-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman dined there June 17 and later developed abdominal pain and diarrhoea.

They sought medical treatment from private doctors and the Ruttonjee Hospital Accident & Emergency Department. No hospitalisation was required.

The centre reminded people, especially food handlers, to observe good personal and environmental hygiene to prevent food-borne diseases.
